Her Legacy
A Mother's Strength,
Living On
She passed away in 2000, leaving behind five children, the youngest just six years old. Years before, in 1994, she lost her husband while pregnant with her last child. In the face of unimaginable loss, she became everything - a mother, a father, a provider, and a protector.
In Balaka Township, she built a life through her restaurant. She was known as a gifted cook. Her food brought people together, but it was her spirit that made them stay. She was loved not just for what she made, but for who she was - a woman who gave, who cared, and who showed up for others no matter what she was going through.
Her strength was quiet but unshakable. Her love was constant. And her resilience is something her children carry every single day.
Today, her legacy is honored by returning to her home village, Mphathi in Dedza, and extending that same love to others in need. This nonprofit was born from her spirit - a continuation of the life she lived and the values she instilled.
"She showed me what it means to keep going, even when life is hard. She showed me what it means to give, even when you have little."
A life remembered
A widow who carried the weight of the world on her shoulders, yet never let it harden her heart. She loved life. She loved people. And even though she is no longer here, her legacy lives on through every act of kindness, every hand reached out, and every life touched.
